As Drogsan Pharmaceuticals, we started a project called "A Spoon of Happiness" for the hospitalized children at oncology and hematology services of hospitals.
Hospitalization is a difficult process for children. A child who remains away from their loved ones is emotionally affected. The situation of the sick and hospitalized children, the sickness and hospitalization duration, the health professionals the children interact with and the medical operations applied to the children leave some temporary or permanent effects on the children's psychology.
Within the scope of this project, we distributed note cards, which we call happiness cards, to the physicians that participated in the medical presentations we delivered at the hospitals. In addition, we purchased from LÖSEV (the Foundation for Children with Leukemia) the dolls made by the mothers of children who undergo leukemia treatment to decrease the treatment burden and from KAHEV (the Female Physicians Foundation for Supporting Education) hand-knitted flowers made to support the students who struggle to continue their education due to economic hardships on behalf of our physicians.
We brought together the children treated at hematology and oncology services with the physicians. We created a package from the dolls and flowers, combined with beautiful notes for the children written by our physicians. With "A Spoon of Happiness" project, continued for three years since 2018, we put a smile on the faces of children who were hospitalized and supported families of the children who underwent leukemia treatment and the students who struggled to continue their education due to economic hardships.
