Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neuro-developmental difference that is congenital or that arises in the first years of life. According to the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data, it is estimated that one out of every 54 children is diagnosed with autism.
The only known cure for autism is early diagnosis and an intense special education. The Tohum Autism Early Diagnosis and Education Foundation is the leading non-profit, public-interest health and education organization in Turkey that is founded for the purposes of diagnosing the children with autism spectrum disorder early, leading their participation in the society with special education, and spreading these throughout the country. The vision of the Tohum Autism Foundation is to meet the health, education, profession, employment, independent living and inclusion needs of the individuals with autism and their families according to world standards.
In addition, the United Nations declared April 2 the World Autism Awareness Day in 2008 for the purposes of finding solutions to the issues arising out of autism by creating a worldwide awareness on autism. The Tohum Autism Foundation encourages the society to create awareness on the issue with its Give Blue Light to Autism call every April 2.
As Drogsan Pharmaceuticals, we answered this call and donated to the Tohum Autism Foundation for the education of individuals with autism on behalf of every one of our employees on April 2, 2021, the World Autism Awareness Day, for the purposes of supporting the individuals with autism and their families and creating an awareness for our employees.
